Is Equine Gestalt Coaching the same as equine therapy?
No. While both involve horses, Equine Gestalt Coaching is different from equine therapy or adaptive riding programs. Equine Gestalt Coaching is a reflective, experiential coaching process focused on emotional awareness, personal growth, and healing. It is not clinical therapy and does not focus on skill-building or treatment goals.

Who is Equine Gestalt Coaching designed for?
This work is designed for teens and adults who are able to engage independently in an emotionally focused, reflective experience. Participants need to be able to communicate their thoughts and feelings, take responsibility for their choices, and follow safety guidelines around horses.

Do you work with children or individuals with developmental or behavioral disabilities?
At this time, DreamCatchers sessions are not structured to support individuals who require significant developmental or behavioral assistance. Sessions do not include side-walkers, adaptive equipment, or directive therapeutic support. This boundary is in place to ensure safety and to honor the integrity of the work for both humans and horses.

Why is Equine Gestalt Coaching not a fit for higher support needs?
Equine Gestalt Coaching relies on self-reflection, emotional awareness, and the ability to engage in a non-directive process. Horses offer honest, real-time feedback through relationship and presence, which requires participants to regulate themselves, respect boundaries, and respond thoughtfully. This approach is not designed to meet higher support or adaptive needs.

What types of equine programs support individuals with developmental disabilities?
Many excellent programs specialize in adaptive riding, therapeutic horsemanship, or equine-assisted therapy for individuals with developmental or behavioral disabilities. These programs are typically highly structured and staffed by trained professionals who provide individualized support.

How do I know if this work is a good fit for me or my teen?
If you or your teen are seeking emotional insight, personal growth, healing, or support during life transitions, and are able to participate independently and safely around horses, Equine Gestalt Coaching may be a good fit. If you’re unsure, you’re always welcome to reach out to discuss whether this work aligns with your needs.
