The DreamCatchers Story
My Story

Meet Jodi Freeman

Horses have been my safe haven for as long as I can remember.

As a child, I found peace in their presence, a place where I wasn’t judged or diminished, but simply accepted. That connection stayed with me through some of the hardest seasons of my life, including navigating abusive relationships and witnessing the impact of that trauma on my children.

What I began to notice, long before I had words for it, was how being around horses created a shift. Anxiety softened. Walls came down. Something honest and steady began to emerge.

The moment that changed everything was watching my oldest daughter find the strength to leave an abusive relationship and begin again. That was when I truly understood the depth of healing that can happen in the presence of horses.

DreamCatchers was born from that knowing.

Today, I offer experiential coaching in partnership with my horses at Rock Creek ReTreet Center, grounded in the Equine Gestalt Coaching Method, a method that supports emotional awareness, present-moment connection, and lasting change. My work gently supports you in exploring the emotions, patterns, and experiences that may be holding you back, not by forcing change, but by helping you reconnect with the wisdom already within you.

The horses play a powerful role in this process. They respond honestly in the moment, offering insight that goes beyond words. In their presence, things become clearer, and space opens for real, lasting change.

You don’t need horse experience to be here. Just a willingness to show up.

This work is especially supportive for teens and adults who are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or navigating transitions, grief, anxiety, or self-doubt, and who are ready for something different.

When you’re choosing a coach, it’s not about finding someone to fix you. It’s about finding someone who can walk alongside you as you begin to see your own strength, clarity, and truth.

That is the heart of my work.

Our Healing Herd

Buttercup

Buttercup joined the coaching family in 2025. This Quarter Horse mare has been part of the DreamCatchers family since she was a weanling, and we have had the gift of witnessing her grow, mature, and settle into herself over time. As Buttercup steps into her role as a coaching partner, she brings a steady presence, quiet curiosity, and an openness to connection. We are excited to discover the ways she will support clients in awareness, reflection, and meaningful insight, and to see the relationships that unfold through her participation in the coaching process.

Freebird

Freebird often observes coaching sessions from a distance, choosing when and how, or if, she engages. She is thoughtful about her boundaries and models the power of choice, consent, and self-trust. When she offers connection, it is intentional and meaningful. If she invites you in for scratches, please be mindful of her space, especially around her head and ears, allowing her to guide the interaction.
