How’s that for a title?
Kinda gross, right?
And yet… here we are. Because let’s be honest – life gets messy. We all have moments, in the past or present (or looming somewhere in the future), that feel just plain gross. Whether it’s an emotional mess, a stressful situation, or an actual physical one – we’ve all been there.
One thing I’ve learned is this: we can’t let the “poop” life dishes out stop us.
Sometimes what feels like a full-on roadblock is really just something we need to clean up before we can keep going. Unpleasant? Yes. Permanent? Not at all.
True story: When I was first scheduled to tour Rock Creek Retreet Center, I woke up to a giant mess – courtesy of my mastiff puppy and his very unhappy tummy. I almost didn’t go. It would’ve been easy to cancel. But instead, I cleaned up the mess, took a shower, and went anyway.
Today? I woke up to another mess. Same dog – just a whole lot bigger now. And today also happens to be another big day for DreamCatchers. Once again, I could’ve taken it as a sign to stay home. But instead? You guessed it – I cleaned up, regrouped, and showed up anyway.
The irony isn’t lost on me. These moments make me pause and wonder: How often do we let a mess – literal or emotional – convince us to quit, shut down, or give up on moving forward?
In becoming an Equine Gestaltist®, I’ve learned that what looks like a roadblock is often just unfinished business from the past. It’s something that’s calling to be cleaned up so we can step more fully into who we are meant to be. That’s where the horses and I come in.
At DreamCatchers, I have the privilege of helping people—teens and adults alike—clean up the inner messes that keep them stuck. Together, we create space for healing, courage, and wholeness.
So, here’s the real question: Is there something messy in your life that’s keeping you from moving forward?
If so, the horses and I are here to help. We’re actually pretty good at helping clean up messes – emotional ones, especially.
Let’s talk.
